FREQUENTLY
ASKED
QUESTION’S.
HOW DOES TATTOO REMOVAL WORK?
Laser tattoo removal uses highly concentrated light beams to break down the ink particles in your skin. Over time, your body’s immune system naturally flushes out these particles, causing the tattoo to fade.
Does it hurt?
Most clients say it feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin.. on a sunburn- uncomfortable yes but tolerable. We use cooling techniques to make the treatment more comfortable and sessions are usually super quick. No where near the same time to get tattooed.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on factors like the size, age, colour and depth of your tattoo, as well as your skin type and overall health. We tailor your treatments to meet your overall goals.
Can you fade my tattoo for a cover up instead of removing it completely?
Absolutely! Fading for a cover up is one of our most requested services. We can work with your tattoo artist to lighten your tattoo just enough for a better cover up result.
Are all colours removed equally?
No- Black is the easiest colour to remove as it’s the strongest target while blues greens and lighter colours can be a bit more stubborn. In saying this the laser technology around these days can make it possible to treat most colours.
Will it leave a scar?
When performed by a trained and experienced professional the risk of scarring is extremely low. We follow strict aftercare protocols to help your skin heal properly.
How much does it cost?
Our minimum charge is $100 (this is for something like tiny tatts the size of a 10c piece or smaller) from there we price per session based on the tattoo and time required. There are no lock in packages and no hidden fees. We provide an honest quote during your free consult and its specifically based around the time needed under the machine.
What should I do before and after my session?
Please please please stay out of the sun and avoid fake tan, if having the treatment in an area that is hairy, do us a favour and shave before hand. If you come in with fake tan on we will need to wait a couple weeks to treat you. (sorry) After your treatment- keep the area clean, avoid sun exposure and follow our aftercare instructions for the best result and fastest healing.
How long until I can get tattooed after treatment?
We recommend waiting a minimum of 6 months from your last session with us before you go and get your cover up, although if your having a cover up that is more solid and dense usually 3 months is ok.
Can you remove cosmetic tattoos- like brows?
YES! However, it depends on pigment in the brow and the technique used at the time of the tattoo. We will need to assess this in person during your consultation.
